About National Theatre Live
National Theatre Live is a groundbreaking initiative to broadcast productions from the stages of London’s National Theatre to cinema screens around the world. The programme began its pilot season in June 2009 with a production of Phedre, starring Helen Mirren, which screened live in many countries around the world, and over 30 cinemas in New Zealand. NT Live has since shown record-breaking productions such as The Audience, War Horse, Of Mice and Men and Skyfall.
ABOUT met operas
The Metropolitan Opera’s award-winning series of live transmissions continues for its 10th season in cinemas over 2015 and 2016. The Met’s decennial season features ten incredible operas, including six new productions and starring the greatest opera stars in the world, including: Anna Netrebko, Jonas Kaufmann, Kristine Opolais, Sondra Radvanovsky and Anita Hartig.
The Metropolitan Opera is transmitted to a record-breaking 70 countries around the world, including New Zealand where 42 cinemas will host this fantastic season nationwide.
